EDITO
As soon as we created BAYA, we wanted to build a responsible and eco-friendly brand. We made that possible through the quality of our products, the materials chosen but also the places where we produce.
All the decisions from the very beginning of our young are guided by the SMALL STEPS strategy. We are convinced that our actions, however small and sometimes not perfect, can be committed, thoughtful, transparent and creative.

CONCEPTION

THE CHOICE OF MATERIALS
We strive to source natural or sustainable materials. The two main challenges are:

Sourcing innovative, non-polluting materials that require significant investment in research and development.

Choosing more responsible materials while maintaining affordable prices for our customers, an option that is often only available on very large production volumes.

OEKO-TEX is the first label to guarantee the human-ecological properties of textiles: without toxic products for the body and the environment. It is an independent German association. In France, this label is called OEKO-TEX.

SGS (General Society of Surveillance) is a specialized company that ensures our products comply with the regulations of the countries in which they are manufactured, as well as with European import standards.
PRODUCTION
THE CHOICE OF OUR PRODUCTION SITES
We choose our production partners with the greatest care. That is why we make sure that they respect the working conditions and the environment through certifications and visits.

OUR MATS
We produce our SOFT® and POWER® ranges in our new factory specialized in PVC, based in Germany. It allows us to offer you durable and resistant yoga mats while respecting European social and environmental standards.
Regarding our INTENSE® range, Asia still remains the main actor for the products based on natural rubber and microfiber.

Did you know? Today, the production of yoga mats requires little human handling but very large investments in terms of machines.
OUR FABRICS
Our goal is to minimize the environmental damage caused by the culture of cotton and the production of synthetic fibers such as polyester. That is why we prefer using new fibers with low water consumption, requiring little chemical treatment. Also, in order to limit our carbon footprint and ensure the traceability of our products, most of our catalog is produced in Europe.

Our ambition: to reduce our water consumption
To develop recyclable polyester and to provide natural fibers that are alternatives to cotton, such as flax or hemp, which are easily exploited in our western countries.

THE CHOICE OF PACKAGING
It is common for sportswear and accessories to be individually wrapped in plastic, directly at the production site. Then, they are usually unpacked in the brand's logistics warehouse, nicely repackaged (with self-wrapping paper or other bags), and delivered to your home. Just think of the waste!
We simply removed this intermediate step and the over-packaging to limit the waste of materials, even if they are recycled! #nowaste

TRANSPORTATION

FROM OUR PARTNER FACTORIES
Some of our products (INTENSE® mats, straps and bags) come from far away. In order to limit the environmental impact, our products are shipped by boat except for the samples for which we use air transportation.
Freight transportation has one of the largest environmental impacts along with cotton production, animal exploitation and many other industries. This is why we strive to bring our supply chain as close as possible, especially with our SOFT® and NATURAE® mats, our clothes and our cushions.
Our forwarder also has a strong environmental commitment. This includes optimizing loads (containers are not half empty when they leave) and the eco conduct of carriers.
TO YOUR HOME
We are committed to working with committed partners throughout our value chain.
Our logistics warehouse (which stores and ships your orders) has made a strong commitment to offset 100% of its environmental impact through EcoTree. Since April 2020, it has owned 500 newly planted trees in the Champeau-en-Morvan forest (30 minutes away from the warehouse).
By absorbing CO2, these trees erase 100% of the residual carbon footprint of the warehouse every year.
Regarding e-commerce, most of the impact takes place on the last kilometers: home delivery is sometimes doubled or tripled when the delivery is not as smooth.

OUR COMMITMENT
To keep you informed in real time with a follow-up of your delivery by our partners.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
If you are not sure you will be able to receive your package, prefer collection points or your place of work. This will avoid round trips by our carriers.

OUR INVOLVMENT

BAYA JOINS THE 1% FOR THE PLANET COMMUNITY
Since January 1, we have been donating 1% of our annual revenue to this incredible international collective.
- • Each year, more than 7 million euros are donated to philanthropic associations, active in environmental issues and the fights of tomorrow.
- • Together, we will be able to contribute to this wonderful project.
OUR COMMUNITY

OUR SOLIDARITY COLLECTION
We fell in love with yoga and there are many of us for whom our practice has deeply transformed our lives.
In partnership with Kabubu, an association that promotes social and professional inclusion of refugees through sport, we offer refugees access to yoga.
For each Kabubu mat purchased, 10 € will be donated to finance this program: 1 yoga session per week, in Paris, for a mixed public with locals and exiles (refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented migrants...) for about 20 people.
THEY INSPIRE US
Many people inspire us every day: entrepreneurs, athletes, artists. Visit our Journal (in French!), where we regularly highlight people who are committed, who surprise us, and that we admire so much!
